Systems Down or Compromised
Situation
Business as usual? Not here. This company’s core business systems were down for six days. The company couldn’t invoice customers, couldn’t print bills of lading, and couldn’t enter any transactions. Payroll and accounts payable checks couldn’t be printed. No accounting information could be accessed. No inventory management. It was full-crisis mode.
The CEO and CFO were furious. The company’s current outside IT sole proprietor (one-man band) was working hard and promised for days to have the system up and running. But every new morning brought the same familiar result: systems were still down. Finally, in addition to losing all of their company’s operational functionality, the CEO and CFO lost their confidence in their beleaguered IT guy. Having had previous experience with our firm, the CEO reached for Lazorpoint.
Solution
Even though Lazorpoint knew little of this company’s business environment, it didn’t take Point Man Greg very long to develop a strategy, assemble a Lazorpoint team with all the right expertise, and engage outside software vendors, as needed. Greg was in regular communication with the client so the CEO and CFO knew what was happening at all times, as well as what would happen next. By the end of that first Lazorpoint day, all critical functions were back on line. By the next morning, everything was back to normal.
Success
Since then, the client has relied on Lazorpoint to develop a roadmap to ensure that this kind of outage doesn’t happen again. Lazorpoint is now working its Peace of Mind plan to ensure that key systems are being monitored, user issues addressed, and that necessary preventative maintenance measures are in place to maximize systems availability. The CEO has peace of mind and full confidence in her business’s ability to serve its customers.
